Frequently Asked Questions
-
An evaluation will depend on the referral question, but on average, you can expect about 3 - 4 hours of testing. However, some may be as long as 6 hours of testing or as short as 2 hours. An estimate of testing time will be provided after an initial interview is completed.
-
Your clinician will review and score all of the testing data. Then, a comprehensive report will be written that includes a summary of a client’s background/history, testing results, interpretation of those results, diagnoses (if any), and recommendations. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to review the results, and a report will be provided to the client.

For minor clients under the age of 14, parent(s)/legal guardian(s) will receive the report. If it is requested that other parties also receive a report (e.g., pediatrician, psychiatrist, therapist, school personnel), a release of records will need to be signed.
Or, the client’s parent(s)/legal guardian(s) may directly provide a copy of the report to whomever they wish.
For clients over the age of 14, the client will be asked to sign a release of records so parent(s)/legal guardian(s) may receive a copy of the report.
In the case of an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE), where the district, charter school, or other public educational agency has contracted with me to do the evaluation, I am required to send reports directly to the school. It is my policy to also provide a copy to the child’s family.

Autism is a mandatory reportable condition for residents of the state of New Jersey who are aged 21 and under. We are required by law (under Title 45 of the Revised Statutes) to report an autism diagnosis (if determined through the testing evaluation) only for clients aged 21 years and under AND who currently reside in the state of New Jersey. This is reported to the New Jersey Autism Registry and can be done anonymously (meaning, the individual’s full name is not provided). In order to provide individualized and comprehensive services, we are not currently in-network within any insurance provider. However, our rates are competitive and determined based on time required to complete an individual evaluation. Clarity Neuropsychology is an insurance-friendly practice. We will provide all necessary paperwork including details about services provided, dates of service, diagnostic codes, time spent, and procedure codes. We are happy to help you know what to ask your insurance company about out-of-network benefits. In addition, a “Good Faith Estimate” will be provided to all clients with an estimate of the total cost of services.
Payment is expected at the time of the scheduled appointment.
-
We accept check or credit card. No cash payments are accepted.

Absolutely! We encourage our clients to bring snacks and drinks to sustain stamina during the testing session. We just request that any food items are nut-free. If clients are scheduled to test for several hours, we provide a lunch break where they may leave the office.
-
In order to gain a clear profile of a person’s abilities, we conduct all testing in person. However, the initial client interview and follow-up appointments can be performed via telehealth.
